Question Out of Office Reply Email?
Hello,
We are going out of town for a few days. Leaving today and returning on Tuesday. Even though I have sent all my clients an email letting them know I will be out of the office, should I set my email to send an Out of Office Reply notification? Or just leave it be, and get the emails upon my return?

What would you do?

BTW - just so you know.... We are going to Oklahoma to the Sand Dunes for a week of 4-wheeler riding(I can't wait). I'm going to have VAF withdrawals from all of you, lol. But really looking forward to a little vacation.

Hope you all have a great Memorial Day weekend!

If you normally respond pretty quickly to emails, I would set the out of office assistant. Besides what do you have to lose?

Hope you have an awesome trip.

Hi Kena,

If it were me I would set my email to respond with the out of office reply just in case. You never know who might try to contact you while you're out. that's just one of my own personal preferences. Hope you have a great holiday and have fun!!

Cheers,

Hi Kena,
An autoreply is great because it sends out a professional, immediate response to not only your current clients but potential clients who may be trying to get in touch too.
If we're out of office over more than one weekday or even just a last minute Monday I'll usually set up an autoreply.

I vote for the auto-reply too. I'd also turn off any notifications from online forums such as Yahoo groups as the auto-reply will send an email each time and annoy the group members.

I would set up the automatic reply. It is very professional. Plus, it will help alleviate anxiety on your part.

Amen to that!
I can't tell you how many times I've had to remind people that when they have subscriptions on the boards AND an autoreply it mucks up my inbox like crazy....

I've always used the Out of Office Assistant when I'm away. Even for one day - it lets people know when they can expect to hear back from me.

Not hearing back is very annoying in any circumstance, personal or business, you should always use Out of Office Reply. It shows respect and appreciation for your clients.
