Default Obtaining signatures on booking forms
I'm sure this has been raised 100's of times, but I can't find anything

Those of you who work with your clients mainly via email, what is your procedure when obtaining "real" signatures to confim the work carried out?

Im just trying to put together a comprehensive terms and conditions (more in depth than that on my website), however I'm not really sure how to deal with this one.

I know a lot of Va's send out actual documentation to return and sign prior to work, but is this the general way of working? or is it just overlooked and that an email confirming "yes" is taken as the ok to go ahead with the work?

Hi Kelly
I don't have a system in place that allows clients to provide me with 'real' signatures to confirm the work was carried out. Most time the client will just send an email to confirm.
I'm sure others will pitch in here. I'd be curious to see the other responses.

I do not begin work until i have a signed contract listing all terms and conditions of the project. The client can either fax or mail the signed copy back

i hope this answers your question

I've recently started using Echo Sign which allows for an e-signature. It's all virtual, no paperwork to be printed, mailed, or faxed. You can sign up for a limited free account and an e-signature is as binding as a physical one. Check it out!

It depends on the client. Most clients I either contract with via email either by the content of the email or by emailing them a contract and letting them return it to me however they choose.

With some of my larger clients I include an original contract with the welcome kit I send with a pre-addressed stamped envelope for them to sign and return it to me.
