Is it my place?
As a VA for a real estate agent, I send regular mailings including letters, postcards etc. I've recently started sending out a new batch of postcards that I've just received. Unfortunately I have found at least one typo on each of the 4 new cards. Is it my place to bring this to the agents attention? They've already paid for and printed these cards.

I would absolutely tell them, because they may not be aware of it. It will look much better on you if you point it out to them before they go out.

Re: Is it my place?
This is what I just emailed to the office manager:
I've gotten some to-dos to send out post cards to FSBO and/or expireds. As I am looking at them I noticed that all six of the postcards have at least one typographical error (several on some). I wasn't sure if you knew about this and I wanted to clarify if I should send them out.

Re: Is it my place?
It's a tough decision to make but I feel that you can't NOT tell them. These cards are representing their business to the potential clients and I know that when I see a typo it just screams "didn't take their time about this" and I start to wonder about what kind of service I would get from them.

Hi Jenifer,
Yes, I would point it. It shows them you are paying attention and care about their business.

Yes, I would absolutely point it out (and offer to proof anything in the future )
Sounds like you've sent the agent a note letting them know - if I were the client I'd truly appreciate an extra pair of eyes - your vigilance helps illustrate how invested you are in your client's success!

Re: Is it my place?
Funny, pointing this out has revealed a completely separate issue that involves what I should be sending and when and has turned the office upside for the moment. I'm supposed to have at least 5 other cards that were never sent to me and I'm already getting tasks to send them out. I'm really glad I said something now. Thanks for the advice!

Yes, I agree you should tell your client. I know if I was the client, I'd really appreciate it because it shows that you care enough to notice and bring it to my attention.

Re: Is it my place?
Well, speaking of that...the client has decided that what I'm doing at the moment in a separate aspect of my duties, is NOT paying off so they're transferring those duties to someone in the office. Its not because I'm doing a bad job, its just not something that's working for them like they'd hoped. They will be giving me other tasks but it will not even come close to the amount of money I make with what they're taking from me. I know they're not obligated to do anything for me but now I'm really going to need to pick up a few more clients. Talk about it pouring! The good news is that with less duties I'll have more time for marketing my business to new clients.

Oh goodness - well that's unexpected! Sorry to hear it but you're so right that this will open up free space for a brand new client to come in.

Ohhhh. Thats a bummer. But you know - there's a saying - when a door closes, a new door opens leading you to something even better.

Re: Is it my place?
So I found another major typo today. I pointed it out gently. I feel like the lady making these mistakes may soon send me a mail bomb but what other choice do I have. This time I sent it to only her discretely since now I know she's getting into trouble for it. I am hoping that she appreciates my discretion.
