Default Intro email to Chamber members
Hello All
I am not sure if this is the right category to post this question in. I am a new member to the local Chamber of Commerce. I want to send out an email introducing myself instead of doing a mass mailing. Do any of you have any suggestions on how to make it stand out and be read? Or if any of you have done this what was the results?

Thanks
Karrie

I am in the same situation. Just joined my local Chamber this afternoon. I would be interested to see what everyone says is the best way to have the email (letter or postcard) actually read.

I'm interested in reading the response to this question! I'll be joining a Chamber in June and it would be helpful to know how to go about "introducing" myself, apart from meetings.

I'm fairly new to my local chambers and planning an intro as well, but in a slightly different way. I'm a big fan of give to get marketing ideas, so instead of just a mailer, I'm going to start offering free teleconference calls to all chamber members. These calls are focused on ideas that will help them succeed with their businesses instead of just pitching my own.

My husband does web design, so not only will the calls focus on virtual solutions, but also on email marketing, web design tips, etc. My overall goal is to give enough valuable information that they think of our business first for their online needs.

After the initial postcard mailer, the expense should be minimal, since we require that they register for the call. With that information I will be building the email list and marketing future calls for free. Oh, and I also plan to contact each chamber and ask them to do a small write up about our calls in their newsletter. That should generate some free exposure as well.
