I am doing Happy New Year cards this year instead of December "holiday" ones. Someone in another thread last year pointed out that if you shoot for Thanksgiving or New Years instead of Christmas, your cards/gifts don't get lost in a sea of others.

Now to answer your ACTUAL question, Tess. I do lots of short one-off jobs, so for most clients, I just send a card with a personal handwritten note. Two regular clients will get either Fairytale Brownies (seems to be a popular choice around here!) or a selection from The Toffee House. But I write for the food page in my community newspaper also, so the editor there will get a bunch of homemade goodies. He's a fellow recipe-collector-experimenter, so it's appropriate.

I am going to send my client a wine basket from Wine Country.

She likes dry wine and does not like sweets lol. So, I chose the Wine Country gift basket to send to her.

I will probably send candy and cards to my other clients as they are one off clients but still deserve a nice treat

This year it will be Enstroms Almond Toffee for my primary client and hand-written thank you cards and a small gift card to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for the other 4.

Uh, uh, uh, me next! Well, this year I am proud to say that each of our clients got a specialized gift since we really love each other....even the ones we don't. LOL! It pays off to spend a minute or two really listening to them vent or tell stories about something without interrupting. This way, you can get a little glimpse as to what makes their boat float.

For instance, one of our clients is always talking about cooking...so we sent him a real cute Italian recipe card set with a box of chocolate mints attached. Another client always talks about how he wishes for a special type of inspiration in the morning before starting his day. So, we got him a inspiration calendar with his business name on it. All of these were really cheap. For other clients, we got things like massage balls, quote books, mugs with company name. It was really fun shopping around. We spend an average of $100 per year on clients. We even got a new client that said he heard that we give out great gifts (in a joking manner of course). I can't wait to send them out.

Lily, you can not go wrong with Coffee. At least you know they use that one!

Except for those of us who are tea drinkers.

I really like my coffee plant; the leaves are beautiful. I recently read an article that said "Plants offer a means to decrease stress while enhancing productivity by 12%." The article is located here. I am also partial to giving plants instead of flowers as the plants last much longer and are a constant reminder of my business.

I usually send a card and put together a small gift basket that includes "mini" products from Arbonne International.

I use the holiday season to send out, "Thank You For Being My Client Gifts". Since some don't celebrate Christmas, I think it's best to do it this way. This year my gift is a Coffee Mug fill with M & M's with my logo. I saw the commercial on TV about the M & M's and thought it was a cool idea.

I'm really loving the coffee mug idea with logos on it... maybe I can have one made with the client's logo on one side and mine on the other. They'll constantly be reminded of our "match made in heaven" lol.
