Default Follow up Plan
I'm curious about how other people FOLLOW UP, with leads, potential clients, current clients and previous clients.

I want to keep clients in my funnel. I want to move them from set up packages to maintenance but I don't want to hassle them

Do any of you have ideas, a strategy a follow up plan you can share?

Thanks so much in advance for your suggestions

Have you thought about a newsletter? Send one to all clients - potential and current. It will keep your name in front of the potentials and your current clients will feel informed.

Nurture marketing is what you need. A systematic way to keep in touch with prospects and current & past customers.
A newsletter is good or just a monthly email blast with a quick tip that they'll find useful and just a small bit about you or your services. Expect to do this for 6-9 months before it really starts to pay off.

I would suggest 3 lists, Past, Current and Prospects. Mostly you'll send the same to everyone, but if you want to offer a coupon, ask for referrals, it is easier if you have them separated.

Hope this helps,

Our first prospect now refuses to even return my emails

We gave them lots of good ideas during our consultation meeting and now it seems they are doing it all themselves. Lesson learnt.

There is a very fine line between what to tell people and how often to contact them; I don't think there can be a definitive answer but it will become obvious with experience.

Good luck!

I heard this in a tele-seminar once and it really stuck with:

Tell them what and why, but not how.

When I work a proposal or a Powerpoint or Video - I try to stick to that rule, tell them what you can do and why it is important, but not how they can do it.

Sorry to hear about the loss of the prospect.

Sending out a newsletter sounds like a wonderful idea. I'm new at this and not sure what all would be put into a newsletter. Do you include information on the VA industry as a whole, new certifications you've received, something about your target market, and just any little tidbit that might be interesting to read?
