Default End of Summer
Hi everyone! In the last 3 days, I've had more serious VA inquiries and responses to RFP's than I have for the last 6 months. In fact, I have offered contracts to 2 new clients, and have two phone meetings Friday - one who has requested a retainer.

I'm not complaining, and am actually quite exhilarated - but confused as to why the rush now? End of summer vacation maybe?

Is anyone else experiencing the same thing, or is this part of a "cycle" for our business in general? This being my first year in business, I'm navigating for the first time.

Would love to hear all your thoughts!

I too just picked up a new client the other day, and am in the process with two more! I don't know what it is, but I love it! I love being a VA and so the more business, the better.

Okay, Ladies...send some clients my way!!! ;-) I need to still hone in on the marketing portion of my business, so I'm still waiting for my first client. I have my company brochure done and biz cards done but am trying to figure out a good but economical printer to get these printed.

Congrats on the new clientele! I hope to be able to brag, soon, too!

Have a great day!

I am a real estate VA. Over the years with my business, I have seen this time of year as a cycle when prospects increase and I sign new clients.

That said, this is the busiest August I've had since I began my business several years ago. Yahoo! Hopefully it is a good sign that the economy is picking up for everyone.

Let's hope the good new continues!

I have been experiencing the same thing myself. I think it is the back to school, end of summer rush. I am not complaining though, it is great. :-)

Same here. Many of my clients ramp up when school starts so summer is actually very busy for me with preparation for open houses, grand openings, planning for the upcoming year, etc.

I think many businesses are more relaxed during the summer. People are often on vacation and many companies offer summer hours. Once Labor Day hits, they buckle down and get back to business as usual.

It may also be a feeling that the recession is coming to an end, or at least it can't get any worse and will improve very soon. Just a few weeks in my new city and not really marketing up to now I've picked up one new client whose work will be sporadic for some time as she's just setting her law practice which is great as I need time to market, meet new people and explore potential markets.
