Default Do You Ever Offer Specials?
My one year anniversary as a VA is approaching and I was thinking about offering a special for existing clients, like a one-month discount for an added number of hours.

I'd also like to offer two-free hours for referrals. I usually don't let clients know ahead of time that I offer a referral discount and it's normally one free hour.

Any opinions or suggestions?

I've always encouraged clients to send referrals our way - and it works, I've been referral-only for the past two years. When an existing client sends us a new client we gift the existing client 10% of the new clients first invoice [up to $1,000]

And yes, we do offer specials based on anniversaries, etc. but it's usually an 'extra' - a gift to the client - rather than a 'buy X additional hours, rec'v X% off' - but that's certainly something you could do.

Also, when we have a new service to offer and we'd like to market it to our existing clients we'll send out a special offer relative to whatever it is, to help pique interest and introduce the new service.

[Happy one year anniversary! That's a great milestone to have achieved. You should be proud!! ]

I try to offer a different "special" every month. I share this through my newsletter. It usually a percentage off or one hour free when they contract for 10.. Things like that.

I did '1 hr free' promotion on Twitter for my 1000th follower for a bit of fun!

Other than that, I don't do specials but see it's a good idea!

I like the one free hour for a 10-hour contract idea! I'm definitely going to use that.

Happy one year anniversary

I like the idea of giving something extra to show your appreciation for having them as a client and I think actively promoting referrers is great way to go.

I have a 25% off for client referrals. I was thinking about giving a free hour for my 500th follower on Twitter.
