Default Customer Inquiry PDF
I created a PDF to send clients who want more info about my business. I plan to email it to them if they contact me for information. It pretty much has the same things that my website does, but it is something they can print out and hold in their hands and sometimes that is important. Anyway, I would appreciate it if you would take a look at it and give me some critiques. I especially would like critiques on my work samples, as I am planning on adding them to my website. Also, when I transfered it with my PDF program the pictures didn't come out very crisp, any insight on that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

Hi Kellie,

First off, I love your logo. Did you do it yourself? If so, what did you use?

Next, overall, I think what you have down is great. However, I am not sure about the reference of working out of your home (listed in last paragraph before general services.) While this is the point of working as a VA, I go back and forth on mentioning this fact.

The paragraph which starts the Samples page - you might want to rework lthe second sentence.
Much of my work has be left with previous employers so if you don’t see it here, it doesn’t mean I can’t do it.

Perhaps something along the lines of Most of my work has been left with previous employers so if you don't see it here, just ask or I have other samples or just ask for more samples, something like it. The part of the sentence 'it doesn't mean I can't do it' reads to me as if you are saying 'just give me a try, I know I can do it.'

Rework the sentence so your confidence and experience comes through and give the potential client the confidence that YOU will be the right one for the job.

Just my viewpoint; I do hope it helps.

Hi Kellie,

I like your logo too, very nice! Your brochure looks good, but I did pick up a couple things:
At the same time I will do the administrative tasks that take some
much
of your valuable time.(just a little typo)
Together we could become a very efficient machine. (I would change this to "Together we will become a very efficient machine". Be positive!
I'm not sure that I would include the personal information about your husband and family in this brochure. I think you should include it on your website, probably the "About Me" page if you have one.

I also agree about changing the sentence that says "much of my work has been left with my previous employers...." I think what I would say is something like "After ten years in the administrative field, I have completed numerous projects of varying types. In order to be concise, I have included only a few samples of my work. Please ask if you have a project that is not represented here." or something similar.

Great work - I'm sure it will bring you some new business!

I made the changes that were suggested. Though I did leave in the part about my family, I just feel like it is who I am and want it to be out there from the beginning.

I did do my logo myself. I did it with Inkscape. It is a free software download that does vector graphics. It is relatively easy to use for the basics. My logo was the first project that I did on it.

Thanks for the feedback, it is really helpful when you are trying to grow your business.

I would not recommend putting your family information in a business brochure, handout, etc. You are sending a message that family is first and work is second. Even though you are working from your home office, you need to have a separation between the two. You need to maintain a business professionalism.
