Default Cold Calling to local Chamber members
Hi All
I need some advice on how to handle local chamber members and how to introduce myself and company etc. I was thinking of doing cold calls but not sure what all to say. Then I thought of doing a mass email but fear of the spam issue.

HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

Karrie

Have you thought about an actual paper letter? Sometimes it will catch someone's attention just because it stands out from all the junk mail. Make sure to include some business cards and brochures!

I was very active in the Chamber of Commerce in a town I lived in previously. In fact I became President of it. Anyway, my suggestion is to go to the events as much as possible and introduce yourself. Get to know who the active members are - they will help your cause. You really have to show your face, become active and donate your time as much as you can. It was very worthwhile experience for me. Not only did it help my business, but I made some great friends there as well. Best of luck to you!

Having recently joined my local Chamber of Commerce as well my first plan was to be mentioned in that months Newsletter. Unfortunately there was a larger than normal influx of new businesses so I was just in a list with everyone else.
I have attended one monthly luncheon so far and made a conscious effort to meet as many people as possible and hand out my business card.
For a fee my local chamber will work with you to send out an email blast to all the members which will come from their email address endorsing your business. I considered gathering all email addresses of members myself and doing it but then feared that it might show up as SPAM and I really don't want to annoy anyone and would rather appear professional.
We can also become a monthly sponsor of a Chamber Luncheon or place advertisements in the Newsletter. All for a fee of course.

Good luck!

Thank you for the suggestions, I had never thought of doing business with the Chamber of Commerce in my City. I will do some research in this area of networking. Thanks again. I get such useful information from VA forums.
