Re: Per Page Article Proofing...How much to charge per page?
What I did was time myself proofreading a dozen or so pages. By recording the time it took for each page and figuring out the average, I could determine roughly how much time it takes me to proofread one page. Then you divide your hourly rate by 60 to find out your rate per minute, and you multiply that number by the number of minutes it takes you to read each page. For example, let's say you charge $30/hour; your rate per minute is $.50 (30/60). If it takes you 4 minutes to proofread a page, your rate per page is $2(.5x4), which is pretty standard for copyediting.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Good luck!
