Default Per Page Article Proofing...How much to charge per page?

I need some advise from ya'll. I have a client that just needs some help with time to time projects regarding editting and formatting text, easy stuff. I really need this client (spear of influence type, so to speak, in the community) and in order to work with her budget, I told her that I would charge per project/page as opposed to my hourly rate. Now I don't know how much to charge per page....Does anyone out there do something similar and have ideas about the charge?
Help! Thanks!

Default Re: Per Page Article Proofing...How much to charge per page?

What I did was time myself proofreading a dozen or so pages. By recording the time it took for each page and figuring out the average, I could determine roughly how much time it takes me to proofread one page. Then you divide your hourly rate by 60 to find out your rate per minute, and you multiply that number by the number of minutes it takes you to read each page. For example, let's say you charge $30/hour; your rate per minute is $.50 (30/60). If it takes you 4 minutes to proofread a page, your rate per page is $2(.5x4), which is pretty standard for copyediting.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Good luck!
