Quick Virtual Assistant Forums question
Hello All,
I joined the forum last week. This is my third time 'posting' and I'm wondering what "tags" are on the bottom of the thread. It says that you can add 5 tags separated by commas.
Thanks,
-Clueless about forums, Diane

Re: Quick forum question
I too am mystified as to what the "tags" option means. Also quite clueless about the different "permissions" I can have in my signature. This probably goes without saying but I am not enough of a technie to know what "BB code" means much less a "PHP BB Code". What are these, anyone??
Thanks!

Re: Quick forum question
Tags will help other users find the thread via the search feature - they are a new addition.
BB code is just the code the forum text editor understands - like color, text size, font style etc.

Re: Quick forum question
No problem! I know the site is big with lots of options - the longer you're here and exploring the more it will all make sense

Re: Quick forum question
I should add that the tags are also a function of SEO (search engine optimization)

Re: Quick forum question
Thank you, Tess, I'll try to figure out how they become helpful. Looks like Kate already has.

Re: Quick forum question
They're helpful in that - let's say you're searching the site for something - the search feature will use the tags to give weight to certain results and hopefully give you better results in your search.
It also helps search engines 'read' more quickly what a thread is about - again giving more 'weight' to the tags the poster or admin has assigned.
