Default Posting links as words or phrases--how?
I know there's probably a very simple answer to this but I just don't know what it is! When posting a link, so many times you click on a word in a post like the word "here" and that IS the link. Rather than seeing the whole url, you just see a word or phrase that you can click. How do you do that? How do you make the url link show up in your post as a word (like "here") or a phrase instead of the url?

Thanks!!

Hi Pam,
In the text editor you'll see this icon
When you want to link a word or phrase highlight the words you want to link and then click that icon - fill in the complete URL - being careful to include http:// and then save the link.
Complete your post as usual and save... the link should be live in your post.

Hi Pam,

On this forum, they've made it super easy. Simply click on the little globe with the link under it. A small box will open. Paste the URL into the text box & click OK. The program returns you to your post with a section of the text highlighted. Simply start typing in the words you want to appear & they will replace the highlighted text. When you preview/submit the post, you will see the URL with your text as the link.

Give it a try!

Thanks, Pam. Do not feel alone with this problem. I, too, did not know how to do this, at first, and had to ask my husband. How humbling is that? Too funny!

That's funny, Jolene! In my house, I'd have to e-mail my son in college; my husband knows much less about this stuff than I do. Hope everyone had a great weekend!
