Default Last Visited status problem/concern
I've been noticing that my "You last visited: __ hours ago" status is incorrect. That, or my account has been compromised.

I've been completely offline (machines turned off) since last Thursday evening, April 9. When I logged in here this morning, my status says I visited last 19 hours ago.

Has anyone else noticed this problem?

Yes, mine says last visited 16 hours ago at 5:55 pm. That's not right, I was on here late last night, way after 5:55pm.

Interesting... we'll look into it! THanks for posting

I don't think you have to worry that someone else is logging in as you, but if you're concerned you can change your password at any time in your profile options.

Also, have you checked your timestamp settings in your profile at all to make sure they reflect your local tiime zone?

Once you've set your time zone properly log out completely and then log back in - check the 'remember me' box when you do so - and it should be fine.

Timestamps aren't the problem. I had not been online in any fashion for three days. That's a bit different than 19 hours.

I use pretty serious virus/spyware programs, so I'm not concerned with anything like that. Let us know if you find any quirkiness on your end.

Is this being caused by Twitter updates? This morning it says that I last logged in 10 hours ago. Well, I was in bed at that time.

However, I do notice that Twitter post updates lag behind. How much behind I don't know. The Twitter post that is showing now (for me, but probably not for you when you read this) is 12 hours old.

I sometimes post on Twitter from my phone, so I wouldn't be "online", but all of my Twitter status updates on all sites will update, and I suppose be activity on my VAF account.

That would answer the question, but unfortunately means I miss out on new posts. When I enter VAF I always hit the New Post link and scan what's been going on since my last visit.

<sigh>

Hi Robin,
Yes your Twitter updates could be the cause - we have set a lag time of a few hours on Twitter accounts purposefully so as not to overload our server.

When you log in and hit 'New Posts' in the main menu it will show you what's new, in chronological order, regardless of the 'New posts since your last visit' message at the top and/or your mainline to Twitter here.
