[Question] Changing the Main Title in a Post

Hello,

I would like to know if I can edit a main heading for a post using the edit mode. I tried to change a main heading but I can't seem to do this in the Advanced Editing feature.

I can change a sub-heading (not sure if that is what it is called) but not the main heading that appears under the category featured in the forum.

Hi Janine,
I'm not sure that we have permissions set to allow that for members. If when you hit 'edit' in those first 30 minutes after you post, you don't see an option to edit the title under 'Go Advanced' then I'm afraid it's not an option - but from time to time we do go through and fix obvious 'typos' in post titles.
We found and fixed the one you posted today that likely brought on this question

We'll look into the possibility of updating member permissions to include title editing in that half hour window and if at all possible, will enable it.

Thank you for the reply.

I did have the option to edit the post in the first 30 minutes as I was able to change the post in the sub title.

You can see that it did change in the corrected version I posted. But when I looked 'up' at the category area...Virtual Assistant Forums > INVOICING AND BILLABLE HOURS
Billing Policies >My Incorrect Heading Was Here (which you kindly fixed, thank you) the latter was the area I was unable to change. I didn't see where to do so in the Advanced Edit section.

You made the correction for me, which I appreciate. I don't think I have permission to make that change, though even within the 30 minutes.

Hello -- I made the mistake this morning of not including my business name in the title of my post on the Virtual Assistant Subcontractors message board. I feel like a knuckle head . Is there a way for me to fix my blunder? ut:

Hi Patty, not to worry, try hitting the 'edit' link inside the post itself - if the option to edit the title is no longer available simply clear out and save your post and then create a new one with the correct information. The duplicate will be deleted eventually when we're cleaning house.
