Default Re: A few notes about the Virtual Assistant Calculator
Peace and Blessings Forum,

I am using the calculator on my "in progress website" and it works. It took some time to figure how to enter it on my web page but I have succeeded. I typed in 30 in the hour box and it reverted back to 25 after I refreshed the web page. I love the calculator for those who are ready to use a VA instead of hiring a full time assistant. I am new to the business and would like to feel comfortable lauching my website.

As soon as I feel comfortable with the design and content I am going to launch it and welcome clients.

HI and thanks for ALL of the great feedback on the calculator - we ARE working on a UK version of the calculator and the new version will NOT have the dollar and hour limits [which were purposefully utilized in V1], but it's in progress and will take time. Thanks again for your feedback and your patience everyone

I have not uploaded it on my site as yet, because I know that any modifications are not authorized. However, just for testing as I was building a page, I had to make the height of the calculator bigger. The code that was provided had the height of about 400-something. When I preview the page, the bottom of the calculator was cut off and even when I tried highlighting it to scroll down, it would not move. Since I know some code and what to look for, I've made a change to the height to about 700, which then displayed perfect on the page when previewed. Again, I'd like to stress that I did NOT upload it to my site until I found out more. BTW, I was working with the full size version, not the mini.

Any thoughts on this?
This worked PERFECTLY! Thank you!!!

Default Virtual Assistant Forums Rate Calculator
I added the VA Forums rate calculator to my site when I was first setting up shop. I found that the interactive field does not let you enter any number. It reverts to 20 (to the best of my recollection). I liked the format, but unfortunately, I deleted it from my site and replaced it with another reference I found. Has this been corrected or was this done intentionally? In other words, it asks the client to enter the dollar amount paid to their current employee to see the savings a VA would bring comparatively. You can't enter $15.00 or $17.00 or any other number as it always reverts to $20.00. Thanks,

Lisa.

That was updated quite a while ago, actually - it still necessarily defaults at open to a set amount but allows your users to enter any dollar amount and it calculates accordingly. You can grab the calculator here.

OK, great; I'll check it out. I really wanted it on my site to begin with! That was about 2 months ago, though. Thanks.

Default Rate Calculator Question
Hi everybody!

I'm trying to put the va rate calculator on my website and am having trouble. It's too big to fit on my pages so I was trying to make it a link that opens in it's own window. The problem is that GoDaddy told me to save it as a file of some sort, then upload it as link on my site. OK, got that part, but what kind of file would work the best. Should it be in Word or PDF or what? This may be a really stupid question that I have really misunderstood but in any case I need help!

Thanks in advance!

Hi Norma, you'll need to make a new HTML page for the calculator, then link to that page - the calculator is a software application so can't be saved as a PDF or similar.

Just in case you missed it, there's a mini version of the calculator available from that same page where you create and grab the big one - use the drop down menu at the top to select 'mini' and you'll be working with one about half the size.

Default Need Help adding Virtual Assistant Forums link and Calculator to my website
Hi All,

I am having trouble adding the VAF link and calculator to my website. I am copying both links into the page but when I view it's still in the form of the HTML code.

I use Office Live so if anyone uses this service and can tell me what I might be doing wrong I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

You need to copy the code. Here is the code links; http://www.virtualassistantforums.co...link_to_us.php

Here is where you get the calculator code: http://www.virtualassistantforums.co...calculator.php

Just select the logo you want to use and it will come out correct.

I used office live for my site. I still need to add the logo, however I have added the calculator already. You need to open the HTML section (under module) and copy the HTML code into that area. When you click ok it should be showing correctly on your page. Hope this helps!

You need to edit your page in HTML and add the calculator code that way.
Website builders tend to strip the code if you add it in any other way - there should be an 'edit in HTML' tab or similar somewhere in your program.
