Arrow Are my forum posts indexed by the search engines?

YES!
The forums function like any other website and are indexed page by page, word by word by all of the major search engines. This means that anything you write here (unless posted to a section specifically noted as 'PRIVATE' - of which we have quite a few) could potentially show up in search results when someone is looking for you, your company, a keyword you used, etc.

Keep this in mind when communicating on the boards.

Default Re: Are my forum posts indexed by the search engines?

I have spoken to my nieces and nephews about this especially with regard to the social networking sites. The problem with social networking is that you do not have control over what other people say about you.

When my nephew went for a part-time job, his new boss goggled his name, luckily there was nothing negative to be found on him.

Every inquiry I get I always goggle their name or company just to check them out, so I am sure they do the same to us.
