The number one reason I love working for myself is....my kids

Just knowing I can work from home, be here the moment they walk in the door, and still provide everything they need means so much to me. I even have my children's friends say they wish their mom worked from home.

I could not ask for a better job than being a virtual assistant working from my home.

Freedom.

Absolute freedom.

From micro-managing, power-hungry bosses,

From office politics,

From being under-paid and over-worked,

From someone telling me, "We have to let you go. We're cutting back,"

From fighting traffic and paying too much at the gas pump....

I like naps a lot, whenever I choose to take one! haha

What I love most about working for myself as a VA is being a part of other people's success. It's a very important - nay, essential role is that of administrative/back office support. No successful business can do without some kind of an administrative function to work behind the scenes. It is a very warm feeling that I get from knowing that my services have had or are having a small, yet essential part in my clients' successful business execution.

What I LOVE most about working for myself is the flexibility!

I can be home for my children or I can go to their school and volunteer if their teacher's need it.

I also have the luxury of setting my own hours. No more time clocks! Although I do clock time spent on client projects, that is no where near the same.

Flexibility. I have the flexibility to be available to bring my children to and from school every day and get to hear all about what happened while they were there first hand... and still meet all of my deadlines. I have the flexibility to go on a field trip with my child or care for my child if they are sick...and work earlier/later in the day so I don't have to lose an entire day of pay. I have the flexibility to work during my vacation, or not - whatever I feel is necessary. I have the flexibility to work from my home or venture out and meet a client at a local restaurant. I have the flexibility to work on one client's project now and another client's later or vice versa...because it's all up to me.

I would have to say my favorite part of being a Virtual Assistant is the flexibility and the variety.

I do a great deal of volunteer work and being a VA allows me to arrange my schedule so I can support my community and have the time to attend most of my children's school sporting events. It is really nice to have the time to help others and still make a living.

Additionally, I love the variety of my job. I am a generalist and love having different tasks to do each day. I am basically a jack-of-all-trades and love the fact that I get to utilize so many different skills in a weeks time. Life is never boring being a VA.
