I was thinking of going after start-up businesses as well. I'm just having trouble finding them! LOL but I'm working on that now maybe I'll try the Chamber...any thoughts?

What a great niche to think about covering. Also, I like the idea someone posted that this would give a new VA (like myself) a chance to discover their niche if they didn't have one. Thanks for the posting and the replies!

Yes great idea... I build web sites and help new business with their graphic logo/image and marketing design
this was a very inspirational idea, and gave me tons to think about.

When I put in for my business license for my pet services - the next day I was receiving stuff in the mail solicitors- Now I wonder where they got my info from? Must be the place I turned in my app for the License. Hummm - that's something to look into.

Thanks again for the ideas...

Start up business seems like an excellent idea! I think you're right.

As a matter of fact as a new VA I am thinking on targeting Hispanic Start up Businesses.

Best of luck to you!

That's a great niche! I'm looking to start my VA, with my niche being helping small business thrive. I hope this works out for you!

I specialize in small business and I love it. I have found that my clients pay upfront for everything too (I don't require that - at all). It's easier for them so I don't complain - why would I?

I have to say that start up businesses are great! You just have to make sure you get with the right one that is going to be persistent in their business. I have found that sometimes they get off to a great start, and then give up. Overall it's a great thing if you can grow with the business.

Hi Kim,
The State Chamber of Commerce is a great place to start....also try the state business registry. It should have listings for micro, small, et.-al.
