Prioritizing Multiple Target Market Niches (free teleclass) Jan 8, 2008
Prioritizing Multiple Target Market Niches
Tuesday, Jan 8, 2008,
from 5-6pm Eastern/NY.
Tuition: Free

Cheryl Downing is a marketing consultant who teaches small business owners how to grow their business--without breaking the bank. Cheryl works with small businesses of all types, such as service providers, inventors, retailers, and high tech developers, just to name a few. Cheryl brings over 17 years experience in the high tech industry where she built her skills in marketing and sales at Xerox and Control Data. For the last four years, she has also provided training in marketing and market research for several Small Business Administration offices in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Class Description:
That's right. The topic title says "niches" -- plural.

Do you cringe whenever someone asks who the target market is for your business? Do you feel that if you have to pick just one niche that you'll be leaving money on the table? Most startup business owners either:

- Get "stuck" trying to figure out their target market

- Feel frustrated and locked in by only having one target market

- Or, they run around like crazy trying to pursue everyone.

However, the reality is that in the first few years of your business you will probably make many changes, e.g. what target market you want to pursue, what products and/or services you want to offer, perhaps even your overall business direction. This session will give you a more pragmatic approach to developing a marketing strategy.

What You Will Learn:

* Why you want to select your top three target market niches, instead of just one.

* Why you want to focus on the top three "common thread" characteristics of each niche, instead of detailed market segmentation.

* How to prioritize your niches into top, medium and low priorities.

* Why the top priority segment doesn't necessarily mean the top dollar volume.

* How to manage your time while pursuing these niches.

* How to balance short-term and long-term market strategies.

This class may be recorded.

Who Will Benefit:

Small business owners who are feeling stuck between a rock & a hard place with their marketing. This class will teach you cost-effective marketing & PR strategies to grow your business--without breaking the bank!

Preclass Instructions: Handouts will be emailed prior to class. However, they are not required for participation.

Cheryl's Teaching Style: Relaxed and friendly with a focus on practical information.
