Do you have to be 'certified' to work with insurance agents? I am currently licensed in my state as an insurance broker.

I am not personally insured to do business as an agent and am not VA certified in my field. But on the other hand with numerous years of experience within the field I feel at this point that I am not needing to be certified.
With this all said...it is definitely an assest to have the certification behind you.

Curently, I work for insurance adjusters and half of the time it seems that I am doing internet research to justify this or that item and expense. Quite a bit of transcription, pdf-ing (is that a word?), and e-mail, along with phones. Our office small but we are one of 11 in this organisation. My background is medicine, and I didn't have to have a licence to work here since I am not selling insurance or doing the actual adjusting myself. I just do the admin part. Hope that helps.

I know this thread is old but I'd be very interested in touching base with someone who works as a VA for insurance agents/agencies. I was a licensed agent for 6 years and have 18 years of executive admin/customer account management experience also. I am trying to figure out what tasks you perform for agents/agencies. ANY help would be greatly appreciated!!
