For the last 8 years, at my current full time job (I do VA part time at night), I have been transcribing minutes for different meetings for my job. Some are verbatim, others are just summaries, some are just the vote count, if any. I have worked for a few people who wanted an interview transcribed here and there, but havent been able to find anything steady. Is this something that is difficult to come by? Do companies out there need this done? I know government agencies do, as that is who I have mainly worked with, but I havent come across private companies looking to hire transcribers. Any help and/or suggestions would be great! Thanks! Sandy

She works from her home and doesn't have any staff and she doesn't like to type. As soon as I can convince her that security won't be an issue, I think it will be a go. Note: She contacted me. I could see how working for a marriage counselor would be an avenue to explore. They don't tend to have "staff" working for them like a medical physician or dentist. I guess that would fall into the same category as "counselor" but a little different. Sounds like counselors, psychiatrists, therapists, etc. are a good target group.
