Default I think I've found my niche!
Things always seem to happen for a reason in my life and I think I have found my niche along the way.
My daughter (16) joined a progressive rock band in late December and since then I have been surrounded by creative, artistic people, day in and day out. I think I am going to focus on the music, photography, artist industries as my ‘niche’.
I’m going to have a huge learning curve as several people have requested that I learn to develop websites for them.
Many of these contacts have mentioned that they are good at, and love the creative side of their work, but detest the admin work. They all hate organizing themselves and can’t seem to get things done on the admin side.
Has anyone here made this industry their ‘niche”? I would love to hear feedback from you if you have.
What do you think? Am I just surrounded by too much of this or do you think it is a viable option? Thanks so much for any replies!

I think it is a fabulous idea! I have known a lot of creative people, and for the most part their creative genius is not compatible with running a highly efficient administrative setup. I think the idea has a ton of potential. My sis-in-law is an artist. I will run your idea by her and see if she has any ideas where you could market yourself to her crowd.

Have a great day!
Lisa

Hi Gals,
Thanks for your input. Much appreciated.
Lisa, where in WA are you? My parents live in Sequim. Have you ever heard of their little town?

I live in the metropolis (population about 1,000!) town of Wilbur. We're about an hour from Spokane on the eastern side of the state. I have actually been to Sequim to visit the Olympic Game Farm. Beautiful part of the state!

That is actually a great niche and the fact that you have contact with that type of client is a plus. You'd be amazed at how many artists have no web presence.

Sending good vibes your way ... Much success

I too have been tossing around going with the "artsy" professionals. I love speaking to musicians, writers, photographers and anyone who is in the creative industry. I have been working on my own photography and would like to incorporate that into my business. What better way than to work with those people? Good luck! I would love to know how your marketing goes. That is where I am getting caught up!

I've had a great response from all of my artsie contacts. I've registered a new domain name and have my tag line. Now to get my website up ASAP and get the ball rolling! I feel great about this niche and have no doubt that it will be a success for me! Good luck to you too......
