Lightbulb Churches and Ministries as my niche
Hi, After volunteering in my church office for three weeks. I decided I wanted to change my niche as I absolutely loved working with them. However, my pastor doesn't believe in promoting, referraling, and advertising (which I totally understand. In addition, they already have a church secretary. That being said I am struggling to find ways to reach my new niche. How do I market and adevertise to Pastors, Churches, and Religous org. Any ideas will help. I have a website and a google adwords. Thanks, in advance.

I'm not sure if it would help or not, but try speaking with the companies that do work for churches. For instance, there is a company that is local to me that prints church envelopes for offering. Perhaps a company like this one would allow you to put a flyer in with the materials they are shipping to the churches.

Some more food for thought is that a lot of churches are more visible online today. I don't know what your skills are, but perhaps offering to maintain their websites can be an option. Perhaps the pastors would be willing to have their sermons transcribed and posted weekly to the websites? Maybe sending out e-newsletters "From the Pastor's Heart" to his/her respective congregation...I think there are a lot of options available.

What about volunteering some hours for churches? It won't bring in money immediately, but it would give you experience and provide ideas on how your services are indispensible to them. And volunteering is good for the soul. *wink*

I also think volunteering is a good way to get your foot in the door, not only local but online.

My church has their bulletin printed by a professional printing company. When I started my first errand & concierge business I called and talked to them. They had a minimum of 3 months and they had different ad sizes & rates, maybe you could check your own church's bulletin.

I also would check online for volunteering. Since you are virtual you can work for any church/ministry.

You can also send out a postcard or samples of your work showing off your technology/service skills to each ministry you check online that you are interested in working for. Offer a discount for the firsts couple of projects or months, or whatever works for you.

I would also set up a Google alert for these keywords. HTH

I agree with the information given above. They are all good ideas. There are churches that use outside support. You may try doing a search on twitter and FB for churches to connect to. Many Churches are creating FB pages.
