I have been using the free web hosting service that IVAA offers to all its members and it's been okay so far (although, admittedly, I am still working on my website so I don't think I'm really qualified to say that it's good or not)

Can anyone share their experiences, if any, with IVVA's web hosting service? Do you think it's better to use IVAA's service as opposed to finding your own web host (GoDaddy, Bluehost, etc.).

I really like that it's free (and who doesn't like free), but with the low cost of web hosting nowadays, and the number of well-known companies that offer great support for a good price, I also don't mind paying if I can get better service...

Any thoughts?

I'm glad you asked this question! I'm still thinking about joining IVAA, but the website was something I was quite curious about. When I attended the introductory webinar, they weren't able to go too deeply into the website information...

I hope that by bumping the thread, someone will be able to give some better insight.

I have not heard of IVAA. I used Domainsinseconds.com - the cost was minimal to get my domain name and then I didn't sign up for web hosting until I had my site completed. The cost was $3.22 per month for 3 years to use Domainsinseconds.com as my web hosting company. So far so good.

I personally would get my own hosting since there are quite a few that are reasonable. One question that you need to consider is what happens should you decide to leave IVAA, what would happen to your site.

I'm also a member of IVAA.org and part of my yearly membership fee is the free web hosting. I've had no problems at all with the hosting but I haven't used a single bell or whistle either because I've been so busy. At the time I just needed a web host and they offered so I figured why not? I don't know if that helps much. Now that I can give it some attention, I'm trying to figure out what do I need and do they offer it? If they don't offer what I need I'm not concerned about moving my site. If I have to change hosting, I can just re-publish my site to the new site location. If anyone knows of what to watch out for when moving a web site, please share! Thanks!
