Default How to offer hosting to clients
I think I am behind the loop on this one...

I have had several of my Web Design clients come to me with NO hosting or URL's. Each time I had directed them to a host and had them (or they let me do it for them with their credit card) purchase a URL/Package for them. They in return passed on the FTP information. Doing it this way just seems to add an inconvenient layer that may not be necessary?

Is there any service out there that would allow me to provide URL/Hosting package without directing them to a 3rd party? I would also want it to be a hands off situation that once the URL/Hosting was obtained that the client would be directly responsible for payment, tech issues and more.

Thanks,

Wendy

I just had a friend the other day that expressed interest like yours....I couldn't help her but try searching the net for relative information or ask someone on board who offer hosting....maybe they can help...

Hi,

If you Google 'reselling hosting services', you can find quite a bit of information regarding offering this service as well as companies who resell hosting services.

There are two articles of interest, one titled, Reseller Hosting Demystified and the other a short Wikipedia article outlining what is involved.

I also suggest you speak to Tess, the administrator of this board as she offers hosting for lucky VAs right here and can probably answer more of your questions.

Good luck!

Thanks, Kate. The Reseller Hosting Demystified article cleared up a lot of questions for me.
