Hello, I'd have to buy a business package from our cable company in order to have them host my website. I have next-to-nothing start-up funds so I am looking for economy. Can anyone suggest a good hosting site? I looked all over this site but didn't see a place to post this question. Sorry if it is in the wrong thread.

Hi J....There's a UK hosting company which are very good - www.streamline.net They have a 3 month trial offer and a site wizard with thousands of templates.

Now as a member here you can also take advantage of our members-only hosting package BUT - if you're looking for a truly FREE startup option, what about starting a blog in Wordpress (they'll even host it for you for free). You can do the same at PHP Blog Manager (but this is more for advanced designers/coders) unless you choose one of a few very basic templates.

There's an article here on how to create an entire website for free with a simple blog program (this one is written with PHP Blog Manager in mind, but could essentially apply to ANY blog program - and there are tons of free options out there!)

I use GoDaddy and have for years. Very inexpensive starter packages which can be upgraded

Looking at the VAF hosting package, I may go with it! What a great service!

I use Microsoft Office Live's free version, eventually I'll probably use paid hosting so that I have more flexibility with my website but for now it works just fine.

I suggest using the member hosting package here if you can swing it. The cost is actually very reasonable and you can receive support right here in the forums! That's a huge plus, especially if you're a beginner.

Just to chime in, I also use Tilda Hosting with Kylie! I switched from another small family hosting plan, but from the first call with questions from a not so technical gal, they made me feel stupid.

After switching to Kylie, she has made life easy. If you are willing to learn, she is willing to teach!
