Post @Domain Name question
Good afternoon everyone I have a question.

I finally got my mail setup with my domain name, so goodbye to @gmail.com. Question is, I'm working on my website now, when adding email accounts, besides people working in the business. I was thinking adding a generic email box @domainname.com for when potential customers visit and was to know more information. Any suggestions? I was on a roll then here I go drawing a blank.

Bless.

Lis

You should be able to use anything you like pretty much - info@, sales@, admin@ etc are good because a lot of the email marketing tools restrict items being sent to them, so you cut down on a fair amount of spam, but that can also mean that people you might want to hear from can't send stuff to you either!

Also don't forget that you can set up different email addresses for specific pages on your site or your marketing literature and track where your responses come from...

As long as you're not limited w/ the number of email addresses, I also suggest the info@, sales@, etc. Helps to keep inquiries sorted and organized.

Since my domain was for my blog before I started the business, my business is actually a subsite of the domain. So I created a VA@domainname.com for my business, so mail for the business doesn't get mixed up with mail from my blog (which can be extensive). Really, any descriptor that is good for you works. Most people don't see past the name of the link.

The idea of having multiple e-mail addresses for different pages and marketing campaigns is a good one. Helps you see what marketing is most effective for your business.
