Default Domain Name
Hello!

I was wondering if I could get some feedback on a domain name. My current web address is www.midwestvirtualassistant.ne t (my company name is Midwest Virtual Assistance).
I am looking at recreating my website using Wordpress and am looking at getting a .com address, and having my .net address pointed at the new site.

My issue is finding a name. My web address with the .com extension is already taken. As are some other variations I came up with. I was hoping for midwestva.com, but that is taken as well.

Do you think www.midwestadminconsultant.com would sound ok?

Any other suggestions would be wonderful as well.

Do you already have clients? If not, then keep brainstorming a domain name until you come up with one since no one really knows about it. I like midwestadminconsultant.com the only thing is that it might be a little long for an email address like: lavon@midwestadminconsultant.c om but I understand that you're running out of options.

Hey LaVon -

Just something I'd like to throw out there. Many, many people will use their keywords to create a domain name, especially if SEO is important to them. While having a domain name with keywords is not critical to SEO, it helps and since you are trying to find something else and having trouble working your company name into it, you could consider that.

Before I throw some suggestions your way re: using keywords - you could also consider midwestsbestva.com - or bestmidwestva.com - or something like that. Both flow and have some rhythm to them, which makes them easy for people to remember. I do agree that midwestadminconsultant.com is quite long, plus not easy to remember so people will have difficulty with it.

Following are a couple of the ones I plan to look into that are related to my specialty, for me to get a little more SEO juice. These may spark ideas in how you could instead use your niche or specialty into your domain name.
www.processmadeeasy.com
www.gottaluvprocess.com

I'd love it if you posted back and let us know what you came up with, or if you come up with a few and want more feedback, be sure to post back.

Good luck!!!

Paulette, I don't have any clients, so switching my website shouldn't be a problem. And you are right on the email. Mine right now with my current website is long, so thats a good point.
midwestadmin.com is taken as well.

Pam, thanks for the input as well. I did like your suggestions. As far as keywords (regarding niche and Target market) I havent really picked one. I guess my niche would be general admin, as thats what I enjoy doing. I also havent picked a Target market, because i enjoy working with different people.

Lol, it doesnt help that all the ones I come up with are taken! I did like the bestmidwestva.
What about yourmidwestva.com or mwvadmin.com

I like yourmidwestva.com - I would not use mwvadmin.com. It's too clunky and hard to catch onto.
