What do you consider to be one of the key features of your website? Your design? The Functionality? Call to Action? Think again. What about your website hosting. Often overlooked and often a decision made in haste because you know you want to get your site online, but you just don't have the time to think about all that technical mumbo-jumbo to make sure you have the right hosting for your needs.
Here are some things to consider before your choose your hosting service. Since this is likely a decision that you’ll be sticking with for a while it’s best to be as informed as possible. I’ll cover what to look for, somethings to avoid all with a focus of hosting your own WordPress site.
Free or Cheap isn’t always better…
Surf around on the internet and it’s likely you’ve come across services offering free hosting, all you have to do in exchange for the free hosting is agree to show their banner somewhere on your site. Most often you don’t have a choice of where it goes, they make that decision and it often effects the key real estate on your site (often at the top of your site).
