Default Anyone use Bravenet?
I found this site last night, not real sure how I came across it.. $8.95 domain name, $8.95 a mo for hosting (they also have free hosting if you want ads). They have some nice templates and useful tools.. I wanted to find a host that had all the tools so I could build and maintain my own site.

I have another site www.dejafaux.com and I have NO ability to get in there and make changes.. thats how the host makes his money. So what I ended up doing was opening a photobucket site and had the gallery icon point there so I at least could add new pictures.. sorta tacky but it works...

I haven't heard of Bravenet. I use 1and1 for my hosting. It 3.99/mo including domain name and all the tools. I found a free template at freecsstemplates.com that I built my site around. It was super simple and didn't cost too much. (And I can add, change and do whatever to my site whenever I want. Including adding subdomains, etc.)

I use bravenet services for a non-profit youth site several years ago. It was not the hosting but they were pretty good only they added ads to everything.

There are tons of other inexpensive hosting. The only service I did not like was GoDaddy. It was a personal thing and one site that I maintain who is hosted by them wants to switch from them as well.

I did check out godaddy but I was confused on their services, there is SO much on that front page I got lost. I had 1and1 a few years ago and moved my site. I found their website confusing as well. (do you see a theme here) I did go with bravenet and got a plan that has a fee rather than a free one. Nothing looks less professional than an ad blinking at the top of the page.... not to mention you dont have a say in which ads get displayed.
