Default Stamps.com
Does anyone else use stamps.com? I love it. It makes it easy for billing back postage to clients, I don't have to stand in line at the post office. It's great.

Today I was looking at some ways to cut back on my budget and thought I'd cut this out. I didn't want to but it was $16 a month and I talked myself in to it. Well, when I called I found out they have a basic plan that is 1/2 that price with almost all the same features. The only thing I can't do is print hidden postage (I never did that) and I can only buy $25 of postage at a time (that's fine). There might have been something else but I can't remember because it didn't affect me. I save $8 a month not standing in line at the post office and on the savings from printing actual postage as opposed to the wasted postage I was doing because of not having exact when it's over the $0.42.

Anyway, I never knew they had a basic plan and I'm sure they won't appreciate me telling others to cut back on their plan but hey $8 is four iced mochas!

I just got a promotional offer in the mail from them and it looks like if I give them a try they'll give me a bunch of goodies, like a digital scale and some free postage. I'll have to look in to.

I think it would be good for a specific client of mine that I just designed a postcard for. Next time I'll suggest to her that I can do the labeling and mailing for her as well.

I use stamps.com for my client. They pay for it and send me supplies. I do not have to weigh anything. Everything I send is first class 42 cents. Its a great system and keeps me from having to go to post office or be reimbursed for postage.

Well, the guy was wrong, there is something else that actually does affect me. With the cheaper rate you can't designate who the postage is printed for. I used to print reports monthly of my postage usage to bill back to clients. I can't do that any more. Luckily, I pretty much only mail stuff for one client so I can figure it out myself but just wanted to let you know that the cheaper plan loses that function.

I have always preferred using stamps.com since it keeps a log for me of every mailing that I do.

Also, if you call and talk to them (maybe when you downgrade your plan) they will sometimes send you some freebies (extra netstamps, etc).

I'll check it out...thank you!

I actually don't mind going to the PO because I get to check my PO Box. But if I ever do a mailing, I'll make sure to remember this service. I do order stamps by mail and I do calculate and print postage labels online for packages but never in large quantity.

Thanks a bunch!

I used them on a trial basis. After a month free, I decided that I just couldn't justify the monthly fee when I could just use USPS.com and print and buy postage. I do still use their free scale they gave me. If nothing else, use the trial. I ended up getting two free months because I called to cancel, and they gave me another month free.=) Also was given $10 free postage just for trying their service. Nice.

I'm lucky that I live in such a small town that my post office is only 4 blocks away and I think the most people I've ever seen in there at one time is 4 and that was during Christmas. It would be hard for me to pay extra for postage...I'm such a cheapskate...LOL.
