Default Request For Postcard Marketing Advice
Good evening all!

I am in the process of putting together my first postcard mailer as a part of my marketing efforts.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on things they have learned from their own mailing campaigns that they would be willing to share - the good, bad and the ugly.......

Best Wishes,
Lidia Griffin

Hi Lidia,

I have never done postcard mailings so I can't tell you from my own experience how well they work. Personally, I think direct mail is a waste of money and time. (That's only my opinion) I prefer online marketing efforts like networking and writing articles.

However, if you need to mail postcards because you feel they will reach your target market better than any other way, I would carefully select the people I mail them to and make them bright, cheerful and ensure they tell your message in a clear and concise way without leaving any room for ambiguity.

Thanks for the feedback Shari.

I am doing nthis mailing purely as a back up effort to my networking activities. I know that traditionally mailings have pretty low response rates, but I figure that that I will also have to repeat the mailing more than once and do some cold calls also in order for it to be worth while.
Wish me luck!

Lidia

I sent out 72 cards last November and ended up w/1 client from the mailing (paid for the whole thing, though since he has become a steady 24/hours/month minimum client. ).

I used my business card as the return address on the back of the card w/ a dotted line around it and a note to cut out my card and save it for future reference. I verified w/the post office bulk mailing clerk that this was ok; he said it was great and that he had never seen it done before! My client saved my business card and called me in February when he was ready to use my services.

That's very clever Lily! Such a great idea. I like that.
