Default Prospect Lists
Hi Everyone,

In my quest to master Outlook 2007, I found this handy website that offers an application to capture addresses and other information from different types of mediums, such as websites, documents, etc... I'm not sure how the application works but it can import the information into different formats. The website is Egrabber.com.

Ivette,

I tried egrabber a few months ago, and it is ok. The free trial only lets you capture 10 addresses, and they will call you relentlessly until you tell them to knock it off.

Egrabber tried really hard to market this to the Realtors on Active Rain a few months back. Some liked it (like those that targeted a certain group of people, like doctors) but most thought it was a sneaky way to capture information.

Me? I'm torn. I think the cost is outrageous for such a simple tool, and I think it's a bit sleazy to use given how much info can be caputred. BUT, if I'm targeting Realtors and I belong to certain groups where that information is given out, it's a very handy tool to capture all of the information, and it's easily transferred into excel and other programs.

Anything that scrapes websites etc. to harvest information, particularly email addressess, isn't something I'd recommend implementing as a business practice. It's just bad internet karma.
Maybe it has some other practical uses I'm not seeing right off the bat?

I haven't tried eGrabber personally, but it sounds a little fishy. I agree with Tess "bad internet Karma"
