Default Postcards sucessful?
Have postcard mailings been sucessful for any of you? How about brochure mailings? I have been told that postcards are the way to go. I wanted to see if any of you have any comments on this issue.

Also, what are your comments on emailing potential clients and informing them of my services and attaching a flyer to the email?

HELP!

Thanks!

Jeanette

Check out the threads because there have been some recent ones regarding this very subject. I think they are in favor a good part of the time. I can't speak for myself as far as its success because I'm just starting out. But I like th idea of a postcard vs. a letter.

You really need to be careful with the whole email thing. Anything unsolicited can be spam and you could be reported. You're better off emailing everyone you already know and hopefully they can in turn email to everyone THEY know. You can also put a form on your website for folks to sign up for updates and then send them a newsletter, coupons, etc.

I've tried the letters and I'm thinking of trying postcards. I just don't know how much I can fit on one, seems it wouldn't be enough space? But I'm definitely working on it!

In my opinion (albeit not highly experienced!), the postcard is really meant to be something to pique a potential client's interest. It should be eye-catching (but not obnoxious) and give them just enough information to want to check out your site or call you. It shouldn't be something where you cram as much information onto it as possible (as much as we want them to know all we can do!). You could also add on a little coupon of sorts, on the side where the address goes, or you could even add a unique code where they can get a discount on the first time they use your services. I found a website a few weeks ago where you can generate unique numbers that you could use for this, invoices, etc.

I open up my VA busimess and mailed out postcards just a few days ago, I will see what will take place next week and I will have to do some follow-up calls. Hopefully I will get my first client from them

Thanks Kimberly

Kari,
That is interesting. What is the website? If you don't mind my asking.

Kimberly,

Good luck with the postcards. Keep us updated on how it goes.

Kari you are totally right! I guess writing something that would pique a potential client's interest is what's hard for me. I'm thinking of sending something out soon though.
I would also love to know what site you use to generate the codes.

That is a great idea and post card. I really like how you include your business card for them to cut out too. Are the edges to that perforated or do they just cut it out themselves?
