I've just sent out a postcard mailing recently and have gotten a really good response so far - my estimation is if I contract at least one client then the campaign has paid for itself, plus all those other eyes will at least have seen the company name and current marketing message.

How did your postcards work out for you? I'd love to hear more about any results.

Yeah! Congrats to you! I just downloaded a huge file from the Mill Creek Biz association and they've listed addresses of everyone who's a registered member. :-) I just have to draft my postcard and I'm going to do the same thing.

Let us know what kind of a response you get!

How wonderful you have moved into the stage of marketing. I will be so excited when I get to that point. How many post cards did you mail and where did you get your listing from?

Thumbsup Re: Post Card mailing
Congrats! I have 550 postcards with handwritten addresses to the local businesses. I am just waiting until I can afford the expensive stamps. I may drop the list down to the most important 200 so that it would only cost $55.

Make sure you follow up your mailing within a week to 10 days with a call or a letter to make contact with your name again. Then follow up within the same amount of time with another form of contact. Gurilla Marketing says that it takes an average of 5 contacts for a person to act.

I hope you get a good response and I look forward to hearing how it goes.

Good luck

I did a post card mailing recently and was a little disappointed by the responses that I received. But what I am finding to be very valuable is reaching out to past employers / employees that I have worked for in the past. Even in this economy there are a lot of folks taking the plunge into entrepreneurship. I may do the post card marketing again; however, I will definitely be more specific as to who I am targeting.

Hi,
Did you purchase a list or create your own? I'm thinking of doing a small mailing with my own list and specifically targeting certain businesses in my area.

I worked as a legal secretary in central London for over 30 years so when I get to marketing my company I will use Yellow Pages and send a postcard to every law firm I can find. I won't use email because I know they are ignored even if they dont get diverted into junk mail. I worked for one guy who asked me to go through all his emails and get rid of anything offering any kind of services. He only wanted to see the ones from clients and other lawyers. I feel he was missing out because there were companies offering services which could have made his and my life easier and cost very little.

In the past.. I have found that not only postcards targeted to a specific market but faxing a flyer to their offices as well. That is what I think I'll do while waiting for a list of subscribers to my website.

I never thought about the fax. I have a flyer created and I already have a list that has a lot of fax numbers on it. The only reason why I haven't mailed out the postcards is because I can't afford the stamps right now.

Thank you for the fax idea, you are awesome!

Same here. That's why I'm making a flyer first. I always had access to Publisher though and now I don't so I'm going to have to wing it until I can afford to get publisher. Faxing has been great for me in the past when I was a Loan Officer.
