There are quite a few postcard and brochure threads on this forum under the marketing section that will give you some good ideas. Another resource for mailing lists is at your local library - look online at your local library for the ReferenceUsa database. One of the ways I pick up business info is to grab a business card anytime I can. I also created a list of at least a hundred business just from the yellow pages. One thing to be wary of when purchasing or marketing to ANY list is that do you have the means to effectively follow up with these prospects? I work with many clients who purchase these great big lists, send out a mailing and hope for the phone to ring - WRONG! A multi-step campaign is a necessary component to get people "warmed" tp who you are. Also, if you purchase a list from say, InfoUSA, you only get one year to market to each prospect; therefore once they become a warm lead, they are yours to keep! HTHs! __________________ Doreen R. We have used mailing list many times in our business. Sometimes it was very successful, and sometimes not. The last mailing we did was about a year ago and produced nothing. I think that if you have a targeted audience you may fair better than doing a mass mailing. You may have more success if you send more than one letter in a series format and perhaps follow up with a phone call. Sometimes it is just a matter of getting your name out.
