Default Mail Stations
Do any of you find mail stations useful in your home?
I just purchased my own mail meter . No more going to the post office for me. Doing this has cut at least 2 hours of my day. Now all I need to do is find something to do with the extra two hours.

You know, I do some mailings often for a client and thought about getting a mail meter/station. I used them constantly when I was working as an employee and found them to be easy and convenient. Now though, a trip to the post office (only 5 minutes for me) means a break from work. So, I haven't gone this route, yet.

The fact that getting a mail station has cut 2 hours of running to the post office out of your day is fantastic...so congratulations to you! There are so many things you can do in two hours...decisions, decisions

This is something I may consider. I do about five mailings per year for a big client and no matter how well I plan, there is inevitably a last minute trip to the post office. Thanks for the idea!

I didn't really think about this until now. Thank you!

What is a mail station? Not heard of that before.

I go to my post office every morning. I get my mail delivered to a PO box instead of my home so it means I'm already in the routine of going there regularly and getting out of the house for a bit. Sometimes I walk there as it's not far and nice to do in nice weather.

Hi Kathie:

A mail station here in the U.S. is basically a device/machine that can weigh your mail/post items and calculate the US postage for you instead of having to go to the post office and having them weigh your items. Some on-line services also have postage you can print right on your home printer. I've done that before and it's pretty neat.

Hope that helps!
