I have a potential client that has a pension mailing list that needs serious updating. They get too many letters returned as undeliverable when they do a mailout and they need someone to help them get it current.

Do you know of a service that can get current addresses for people that is
reliable and reasonable?

Hi Sylvia,

I've always had pretty good luck with AT&T's Anywho lookup. White pages come in handy for people, which is what I think you are after. Plus, it's free!

Another thing, if you/they haven't done this, is to put "Return Address Requested" or "Return Service Requested" on the envelope. This link to the US Postal Service may help explain the different wording one can put on the outside of an envelope and what will happen when you do.

Can ya tell I had to hunt down former employees before?

Thanks Jules! It Does sound like you've had experience with this sort of thing! I've always looked for addresses using WhitePages but didn't know if there was something else out there. I'll give it a shot.

I love anywho also! Have used it for years.

Sometimes people do not have the time to do the actual looking - perhaps best to subcontract to VA.

?? does the Post Office charge now to give you an address after someone has moved and ?? if it is a very old list - many of the people they can't find may have moved long enough ago that forwarding has expired - so don't know if they still give addresses. GAWD -- used to do this stuff all the time, now rusty - geesh. Gotta get back in the saddle.

I had a very reliable internet service I used to use all the time while working inhouse for attorney and now I can't even think of it. It was only a set rate per year and it would give you info per SSN etc. last known address etc. on an unlimited number of people. There are many of these, don't know which ones are good.

This is the kind of thing that I really enjoy doing so I need to find out the answers to some of these questions again!
