who would need these type of services?
Hi Everyone,
I've been reading the forum & taking notes and I feel you ladies are extremely knowledgeable about this industry.
I've been an Executive Assistant for the past 12yrs in the non profit industry, however, I'm also an actress so I'm naturally drawn to the entertainment industry.
After assessing the duties I've done over the years I have to say the ones that I enjoy the most are the ones that I had to use some type of creativity i.e. creating brochures, fliers, e-newsletters (not writing the actual content but adding graphics to the text), PP presentations, forms, spreadsheets, etc. I want to offer these services only since I know that I wouldn't tire of doing them and actually enjoy doing them.
Most my experience in the nonprofit industry was in the training and fundraising departments at different companies. So these duties were needed on a daily basis. I'm not sure if the nonprofit industry is a profitable target market, & I'm not sure if I could even find people/businesses that would need these services in the entertainment industry.
Any advice on which direction I should go in or whom to market to or how I could actual research to see who is in need of these types of services would be appreciated.

I think you need to research and start talking to business owners to get a clearer picture, however, I do believe that regardless of industry business of all kinds would benefit from these types of services. Some more than others but every business has to do some kind of advertising. Sales people might need the PP presentation help, while real estate agents are forever needing brochures, flyers, advertisements. When they list a new property they create all of these things. It really just depends on which markets you want to work with. It is a great opportunity to find other industries as these services are needed in all of them to a point. Good luck

thank you for the reply, I definitely have to do more research. I was thinking of the non profit simply because that's where my background is but I'm more than willing to branch out into different industries if my services are needed more. I'm happy that I got down what I want to offer which is one step in the right direction!

I think the Entertainment industry could be a great place for your services, especially for flyers, broachers, newsletters and e-newsletters. Check out theatres, drama clubs/schools, even bars and clubs that have entertainment.

It sounds like you have a list of what services you would like to offer. Next, make a list of they type of people with whom you like to work. This should help narrow your target market down a bunch.

thanks a million!!! I'm getting some very helpful advice here in which direction I should go in. I plan to sit down this weekend and think of who I would like to work with, who will def. benefit from the services I offer, & where/how to market to these people.
