Default What Social Media Tasks do you do?
I recently asked this on my Facebook Fan page, but thought I'd throw it out here as well.

I'm interested in knowing what types of social media tasks do you do for your clients OR what tasks are most often requested with regards to social media (i.e. Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn).

As a Social Media Virtual Assistant who mostly specializes in doing just those tasks. I'm wondering what tasks others do who also offer different or more general services.

If you also do mostly Social Media, I'd love to hear what your top requests are as well.

Hi Kimberly,

I basically do blog posting and updates, YouTube Management and sometimes sending a tweet or two from my client's Twitter account -- specifically when they are running a contest. Every now and again, a client will ask me to approve Friend Requests on Facebook.

Primarily I assist clients with their blogs and Youtube, since that falls more into my range of services.

Hey Darlene,
Thanks for chiming in here. For blog posting, do you put their content in, add links, keywords/SEO images and then schedule it to go out?

I've been getting more into YouTube management myself. Mostly with setting up accounts, adding videos, descriptions tags, finding favorites and other users to subscribe to. Is that similar to what you do?

I handle posting, finding graphics and scheduling for blogs. Social Media Account Set-up, mostly LinkedIn. I am often recommending which route they should go for their Social Media, as I truly believe that not everyone should be everywhere. It's better to focus your effort.

Setting up Youtube and other video services is also something I do a lot of. I'll schedule the occasional Twitter for a client and may set up their Twitter Background. I'll also create Facebook Fan Page Welcome graphics.

That's about the extent of it though, I'm moving into offering exclusively Info Product Marketing Packages and so part of my package will be recommendations on where I see they fit in the Social Media World.

An additional task that I do is to market upcoming seminars and events, by setting up events in FB and pushing them out to FB friends and others via the FB email.

Thanks for sharing ladies, this is a niche market that I would like to develop. Having so much fun creating all that has been needed to start up for myself, ready to do so for others now.

Renee- Thanks for sharing. I completely agree with you that certain social media platforms aren't for everyone. I have a client who works in IT and told her that it just didn't seem like Facebook was probably going to get her much return. Sounds like a great idea to move into offering just Info Product Marketing as I have been having discussions recently with some local friends about how much is out there for HOW to create an Info product, but not much out there for what to do with it once it's done.

@Heather- I can completely see how using Social Media for promoting events is something clients would want you to do.

Hello,

For blogs -- yes, the client will send me their blog post for me to read over and do some basic editing (spelling, typos, etc). Then if all is good, I will put the post in, add links, images, keywords, and schedule to post.

With YouTube Management, in most cases I am doing the video editing for the videos first. So, once I am done with the video editing portion of the project, I will upload to the YouTube Account, add description tags, in some cases name the video based on targeted keywords and add annotations and sometimes link a video to another video on Youtube. I haven't done any management when it comes to finding favorites or subscribers.

Oh and like Heather, I also add client events to social networking sites too.

Darlene

Kimberly - I just wanted to add my 2 cents to this because even for IT, because you can so tightly market to a target audience, if her market is on Facebook then it still could be possible. It would depend, of course, but just thought I'd throw that in because when you get creative with using Facebook - and since it has begun to surpass Google in traffic stats - it might be worth taking one more glance?.?
