Default What about this for the Holidays?
I was at my hairdresser and we were talking about the VA business and she mentioned she'd like brochures mailed. So we were talking price back and forth and she gave me an idea of getting your customers back for the holidays. Let's say a hairdresser would send out postcards or something with coupons or "look great for the holidays" to get the bookings for appointments and get those customers back in the store. I thought this could also be good for florists and stuff like that. They are busy for the holiday season anyway so this could be something I would do. They would give me their list and the mailer and I would print it and get it mailed out to their customers.

So I thought I would send out a postcard to that effect saying I was now booking for these mailing projects for the holidays. I am targeting local merchants with this one. What do you ladies think? Is it a good idea? When should I send those out? Also I'm offering like two hours of free VA service for the New Year for the first five that take advantage of this service.

Good idea Janice. And I'm just noticing that you're located in Rochester. I'm in Williamson, about 30 minutes east of you. Where in Rochester do you live?

Thanks Deb! I'm just wondering when I should send them out and to what type of businesses besides hairdressers and florists. Maybe spas? I'm in Irondequoit area. I see you're in Williamson that's not too far from me. Your name looks familiar.

Spas are a good idea. Would be even better if the spa had a mailing list of previous men who might have purchased spa services for their women in the past as a gift. I would think sending the postcards out in mid Sept? That would give businesses a chance to get their list together for you. I would think they would want the mailings to their clients to go out in October and they might want to do a follow up mailing in late Nov, early Dec with an addition special.

I'm sure others will come up with some great idea's for you too!

Being so close we should keep in touch Janice

Sounds like a great idea to me. I know of another VA offers something similar and has had great success with it. Hope it turns out well.

Thanks for the advice Deb! This makes a lot of sense to do two mailings. We should definitely keep in touch! I don't know how long you've been in business but I'm just starting out.

Well I've been around here and there for about a year or so. But I still consider myself just starting out compared to most of the people on this forum. This summer has been crazy for me and my business suffered because of it. I'm trying to get myself back on track. Of course the first 2 months of school are going to be hectic with both my kids playing sports. Oh well story of my life LOL.

I do have a meeting tomorrow morning though, so crossing my fingers on the possibility of a new client!

I think that sounds fantastic.... actually very similar to a few ideas I've been toying with! I'm not even "open for business" yet, though, just in the research phase.
