I was talking with some friends and informed them what business that I have. One of these friends have a employment agency and ask would I be interested in doing recruiting virtuallyfor her . I told her I would get back to her, has anyone heard of this or have done any type of virtual recruiting and if so what would you charge? Stump on this one - I would like to give her some reasonable answer.

The first thing that hit me was "FRIEND" and the fear of mixing friendship and business.

Now to answer your question is I would quote my regular hourly rate and give her information about any other packages you may offer. The one thing you don't want to do is down play your own business to friends because they may start to not take you or your company seriously...speaking from experience.

I agree with Katrina about the "friend" thing. But, I also believe that since your friend is in business that she/he may have a better idea on how to keep the friendship separate from the business.

With that said, again I agree with Katrina, quote your regular hourly rate. Some recruiters work on commission only, but, you can end up working a lot of hours doing hard hitting advertising, social media and networking, and then end up only get paid by each person you bring in. I suggest not doing commission.

Recruiting online will be pretty easy in the since that you will be posting to job boards, social media outlets and forums.

thank you, I was concern when she ask me about working as a virtual recruiter, I have done face to face recruitment but this would be new for me, I have worked with her in another business endeavors and it worked out very well. I just was not sure on how to go about in quoting her any particular rates, I worked commission I'm also a license realtor should I say any more:-) Thanks again

I did virtual recruiting very recently. There are tools that almost do the job for you if the client will purchase them (though recruiting always require a lot of work). ATS systems have recruiting options and LinkedIn's premiere recruiting tool is not too bad either.
