I have been in business about 6 months as a VA. I have a good base of customers, but keep getting lots of requests for things I don't enjoy. My income is not hgh enough yet to turn away work, but I would like to develop a "specialty" for attracting new clients.

I have been involved in helping to start up divisions of companies (both new locations and new lines of product/service offerings) at previous employment. I enjoy working with new business owners and educating them on the best course for their businesses. What do you think about the idea of offering low-cost training classes locally, as well as teleseminars for new business owners to cover some basic materials?

Then, at the end of the seminar, I would make my pitch about offering VA services and continued coaching on the startup process including marketing, purchasing, and administrative guidance.

Am I insane or do you think this would be a good marketing idea? Thanks for your feedback.

Sounds like a great angle to me - you've already thought this out and most importantly it's something you'll *enjoy* doing! I'd go for it - it sounds like an exciting new direction for your practice.

I might suggest that one way to offer this while keeping it completely virtual would be to package what you know into a kit of some kind and then maybe sell consulting via email and phone along with it.
