Default Legal Transcription
I want to make legal transcription the niche for my business. Since I don't really have experience in this field, I have enrolled in a course from US Career Institute that teaches legal transcription. I have done some research in my area as the need for legal transcriptionists and I think this will prove a lucrative field once I've finished the course.

I would appreciate any input from anyone who does legal transcription as to what I could be doing while taking the course that will help me be fully ready to market my services and take on my first client as soon as I finish the course.

Also, if you've had any experience with US Career Institute, I'd appreciate hearing about that as well.

Thanks

I suggest adding other transcribing services as well. It can be lucrative but it can also be slow. Adding other transcribing services will allow you to fill the gaps in between jobs. Also ask lawyers in your area are they willing to outsource their depositions.

Good Luck~
Andrea

I agree with you Andrea, providing more services can open doors to more opportunities.

Thank you Andrea and Karla for your advice. I plan to still offer my services to non-profits while I finish the legal transcription course. I'm planning on using a 2-sided business card that lists which services I offer on the back.

I will continue to offer my other services as well as legal transcription.
