I'd be so interested to know what's on everyone's hardware/home office wish list and why?

The first item on my list is actually for my husband/business partner - a really nice, comfortable ergonomic office chair. We have not found one that he likes... but that is at the top of the list.

I also wouldn't mind having an iPad, but just for fun.

It would be neat to have a couple of large flat panel monitors on the wall in the home office, for design and development projects but those will have to wait because we are moving soon.

So what's on your list?

Oh, I love this question! Well, two things that have been on my list for the longest time were a new dynamic microphone (Heil PR40) and a mixer (Behringer Xenyx) for podcast production. I am super excited, because I finally purchased them two weeks ago and after figuring out how to actually hook them up to my laptop, I produced my first podcast with my new gear yesterday.

Outside of podcast gear, A new desktop computer and nice widescreen flat panel monitor for my office are on my wish list. Actually make that two monitors.. I always wanted to have a dual monitor workspace.

And Tess, I am in major need of a new office chair too. I have had the chair I am currently using since, ohhh the late 1990's (no kidding). It is finally starting to show it's age. So, I am thinking I need to get a new chair pronto

An iPad would be kind of cool, as would, an iPhone... although, I already have an iPod Touch... so I think that would be overkill.

Finally, a new book case, so I can purchase more books.

A desktop computer is on my wish list, with a great desk chair right behind it. Right now I work on my laptop at a little writing desk sitting on a dining room chair. My office space will be available in August, so then I hopefully can get the chair at least!

Isn't dreaming wonderful? I would love a desktop computer as right now I'm working on a laptop. One with a huge 19-21" flat screen. Most of all, though, I'd love my own room, separate from the rest of the house, that I could retreat into and close the door!

1) NeatDesk (This is the desktop version of NeatReceipts)

2) A new commercial quality digital copier/printer (Might as well dream big. I have an older Ricoh 2228C, but it often jams and copy quality is only medium.)

3) A second wide screen (23" or lager) high res monitor. (I currently have a Samsung 23" wide screen, but a second one would be great for multi-tasking.)

4) And as always software, software, software. (I am a software junkie, I always have a wish list a mile long.)

For me I 'm going to be needing a new desk soon. Moving house again shortly and my poor desk has moved so many times I don't think the sticky tape will just stand up to it!

I work off a laptop and have a 22" monitor attached to it so I already have the dual monitor now, but what I'd REALLY like is another 22" monitor and mount my laptop on a little corner shelf above my desk. SWEET!!!

You don't need a desktop, as laptops these days have just as much if not more guts to them as a tower.

And as I'm still new I pick up my printer/copy/scan/fax machine next week!

I would like a new chair too, however I cannot seem to find just the right one. Also, a second laptop (and printer) to leave at out weekend place so I don't have to cart everything back and forth. Then I could really have a mobile office!

Yes, I am in agreement with Tess a comfortable ergonomic office chair is at the top of the list! Both my husband and I complain about the two used chairs we have now.

Then a 4 in one printer/fax/copier/scanner. We use to have one and have never replaced it.

I think the last thing would be to splurge to have internet access or should I say a media plan for my cell phone. I really like the idea of having a mobile office. I just need to figure out which phone would work best and if I could actually get use to typing on a phone!

I too need a new chair and like others have said mine is rather old - purchased in the 90's too! But the need for a computer and printer out weigh this, but it still feels comfortable.

I have in the budget for next year a new laptop computer and a new 3-in-1 printer. I'm so excited since my laptop will be 6yrs old and the printer well it's already gone....using my other printers for now.
