Winston I think you would get along great with my dad. He is a "collector" as well. He is always finding things that others want to get rid of (kitchen counter, beauty shop chairs, etc) He actually has a speaker's podium in his basement right now because someone was getting rid of it and "you never know when you might need it!"

Oh.... we would get along GREAT! LOL!!! I'm the same way. I had a storage unit full of stuff that I had collected and I finally had to let it go. There was just too much stuff. It really broke my heart, but excites me at the same time because now I get to start all over!!! YAY!!!

Thank you Winston!

I went on to Craig's list today to check out the free stuff (nothing to write home about but I did a few good laughs at what people try to give away when they should throw it away).

Anyway, I came across a HP M1319F printer in great condition for $25 in a town not far from my in-laws. I have worked with a printer like this before and know the basics of it. I contacted him and he says that it works and the reason why he is getting rid of it, is that it was his parents and the only thing they go on to the computer for any more is to play game on it.

I asked my mother-in-law to go check it out and see if it works and if it does to buy it and I would pick it up this weekend. He knows that she is coming and that she is going to test it out. It does not have the manual or the disk for computer (but two different people told me I can get both online).

According to Best Buy and Office Max this is a $300 laserjet printer, copier, scanner, and fax.

Added bonus, when I was at hockey with my son, I ran into a hockey dad that I know well that works on copiers for a living. He said that he would be happy to help me out whenever I need it!

This printer/copier is exactly what I needed and who can't afford $25?

You know Winston, I was at my mothers job a month ago and saw some one throwing away a laser printer. Of course I did not know it was a laser printer until I walked up to it. It looked brand new. So, with a little help, I picked up the printer and put it in my car. Took it home, plugged it in, added it to the network and sent a print job to it. It didn't work. I took it apart looked inside and found several pieces of plastic inside the print area. I cleaned it out and then did another print job. It printed! So, I thank you Mr. Stewart for making me a frugal gal This is the printer.

I know. I felt so blessed when I got it to work. The cartridges are expensive but if you read how many sheets it puts out it is well worth it!

When I told my husband about the laserjet he is like "how much is that ink going to cost?"

If you get the HP brand it is $80 but if you get the Office Max brand it is $60. My husband was not thrilled. But I told him, we pay $20 for the black ink now and it only prints like 300 pages or so, where as the toner cartridge prints an average of 2000. It saves you in the end.

Make sure to check out Office Max, because they tend to carry a lot of compatible cartridges for copiers.
