So this question came up in another thread about Aircards, which are basically modems/antenna that plug into your computer that allow you use a wireless network for accessing the internet from pretty much anywhere depending on coverage.
Typically you purchase a service agreement through one of the cell phone providers like Verizon, AT&T or the like and the aircards plug into the USB port or a docking station. Here is a
link to a comparison of the different aircards.
I think cards can cost a couple hundred of dollars and service plans can be around $60 a month. This can be an option for people who need access anywhere or who can't get DSL at home but have good cell coverage.
I'd like to hear from others who use this or have experience using an aircard and whether they thought it was a good investment.
