Default Microphones Help
I'm planning to get a mic for my pc sometime in the near future. I've never had one and don't know anything about them.

Is it OK to just go with whatever is cheapest or are there some specific things I should look for? Do they come in headset form? I have problems with hearing so I'm worried that I wouldn't be able to hear as well with a headset.

There are all kinds of models - with or without headphones.
We use (and highly recommend) the Logitech headphones with attached microphone
A-0356A (should be the model number).

We bought them at Radioshack for about $25 or $30.
There are definitely cheaper models but nothing compares to these - and we've been through TONS of headphones the past two years. We finally just decided to spend 'a little more' than we had been and it's paid off! Plus the earphones are padded and don't bother or feel hot like some of the other ones can.

And, it's USB so you don't have to worry about a bad connection.

Cool thanks. I'll see if I can find those. I've always had good luck with logitech products in the past too.

They do make quality products. We also ordered a five piece speaker set from Logitech and it's got amazing sound quality - we got that one from Newegg.com (the site you recommended)

Logitech also makes 'Skype' certified headsets (the one I mentioned is as well) which is nice - they work well with the VOIP if you use it at all.

I have a "free standing" Logitech microphone and love it! The sound quality is great and I have never had any problems. I think I will look into the headset one, however.
