Re: Mac or PC or Both?
My main system(s) are PC - I build my own PCs. (Always Intel, never AMD.) I do, however, have a Mac laptop with the latest Leopard Operating System and software (iWork). I keep the Mac so that I can service clients who are Mac dependent. My preference is PC, but I can operate a Mac just as well as a PC.
Best Wishes,
Julie

Re: Mac or PC or Both?
I'm using PC, I can't afford to buy a MAC hehe. One thing I love in PC is that you can upgrade everysingle module of your hardware unlike MAC there is only a limited hardware if you want or decide to upgrade.

Re: Mac or PC or Both?
I haven't tried using Mac.
I'm completely dependent on a PC. I assemble my own PC but I would love to try Mac. I heard that for video editing, production or graphics designs, their softwares are the best.
Oh well, I think I should learn more about Mac before making a purchase.

Re: Mac or PC or Both?
I am totally a PC user and have been for years. The last time I touched a MAC was when it was called an "Apple Computer". Totally dating myself. But I have heard good things about the Mac and am considering checking it out one day.

Re: Mac or PC or Both?
After only using PC's for over 15 years I purchased my first MAC and love using both. There is a Microsoft Office software for MAC which makes it easy to access documents from either computer.
This Microsoft Office software also includes an email program "Entourage" that is very similar to Outlook. Therefore, I can monitor my emails no matter which computer I happen to be working on.
MAC is not very hard to learn to use. There is also lots of assistance out there in the MAC community.

Re: Mac or PC or Both?
I've had my Macbook Pro for a year and a half and haven't had to do a thing to it. It has never frozen, crashed, lagged - any of that PC stuff. I love it! And, I love that iWork can handle Microsoft Office and that I can install the whole Office suite on it. My husband still has a PC (he's very envious of my Mac though and I have to "work" on it quite a bit. I do have one "job" (billing for a group home) that I have to use Internet Explorer for, but other than that, my Mac handles everything.

Re: Mac or PC or Both?
I'm another MAC Maniac!! Every personal computer I have ever bought was a Mac. I have also always used PC's at "regular jobs" because, until recently, that was the way of the world. I've always found Macs to be more intuitive, less of a hassle (fewer compatibility issues), and simply more fun.
I'm new to this business and decided to go with my heart and my preference. I got a MacBook Pro. I am currently thinking of marketing myself as Mac-based, especially since I hope to be working with people in creative fields. Macs are now very popular and growing in popularity quickly. They are no longer the "step child" of the computer world.

Re: Mac or PC or Both?
After many years working on a PC my frustration level had reached a climax. Between upgrades that seemed to go backwards, cost, and poor customer service I made the change to MAC. I have never been happier, the OS runs flawlessly, and is very robust and does not experience the virus issues that plague PC w/Windows. I do a lot of programming, digital graphics, typical resource hog activities and have not had any problems with lagging, system issues, etc. Call me a convert, I'll never go back to PC!

Re: Mac or PC or Both?
I use a PC but my first love has always been a Mac. I used to have a white macbook but due to unfortunate circumstances 2 years ago, it got destroyed due to a flood. I wasn't able to save it because I was at work.
Nevertheless, if I had the resources again I will purchase a Macbook Pro and install Parallels or VM so I can use Windows on it as well. Will still keep my Windows laptop though.

Re: Mac or PC or Both?
Now, while I'm a Mac girl I still have clients that use PC w/Windows. This can lead to issues when sending completed work back and forth - to eliminate this issue I use a program called Parallels so I can run both Windows and Lion on my Mac. Additionally, for document sharing we use Dropbox.

Re: Mac or PC or Both?
I have two PC's and a windows laptop. Like many of you I am going bilingual as soon as I have the funds.
I've heard that once you get a Mac you become an exclusive Mac user.

Re: Mac or PC or Both?
I currently have a Windows desktop and laptop, at my next desktop upgrade (probably next summer) I'm going to switch back to Mac. I'll probably keep a Windows machine around though in case I need it for something.

Re: Mac or PC or Both?
I have a Macbook Pro and a PC netbook. Since I'm a graphic designer, I work on my Mac and use my netbook for website testing purposes.
